About Us

We're dedicated to helping travelers - from sailors to RVers to backpackers - get off the grid for their power needs. We offer solar panels of all sizes that are specifically designed and built to withstand the rigors of the marine environment, one of the harshest on earth, so you can be assured they'll perform well under other extreme conditions, such as on top of an RV in the desert or strapped to a backpack while climbing in the Rockies.

One of the things that separates us from the hordes of other online solar dealers is that we're here for you from start to finish . . . and even after the finish. If you ever need to talk to us about your system - before, during and after the purchase - you can call us from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time, seven days a week. We want your system to perform at its best just as much as you do.

If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, we can also arrange a free personal consultation at your boat or RV to design a solar power system specific to your electrical needs.

Founder Rob Tryon, seen above heading to Hawaii in the '08 Singlehanded TransPac on the solar- & wind-powered Valiant 32 Feolena, is a cruising/racing sailor who’s built a number of rock-solid, bulletproof electrical systems specifically for offshore sailing, when dependable power is paramount. Rob started incorporating solar power into these systems when the technology allowed for small powerful panels, such as the new polycrystalline panels that are available today. He lives aboard a solar-powered Wauquiez Centurion 47 with his wife and cat.
